Intern in the spotlight!
Stijn de Boer, 21 years old and live in the beautiful city of Leeuwarden.
As a child, I have always been on and around the water and this has sparked my interest in this field. In high school, I discovered that Chemistry and Physics interested me very much and were well suited, so I wanted to participate in my further education. Because of this, I chose to study Chemical Technology with courses from water technology and process technology so that I have the widest possible knowledge of my field.
How did I end up at Brightwork?
I came into contact with Brightwork through an email from the tutor with a vacancy there. When I read the assignment, I immediately thought I want to do this because I can use my knowledge in process and water technology here.
What do you want to achieve with this research?
The goal is to optimize the sand filter so it can treat influent before it goes to biological treatment. It is important here that it meets the requirements set for the installation.
What are your future wishes in your career?
This internship is a good opportunity to get to know the work field and see what I want in the future. After this internship, I plan to follow a minor/ pre-master at the University of Twente and hope to gain even more knowledge that I’m able to use it in the future.
