International interest for Sand-Cycle

The Sand-Cycle monitoring sensor, based on RFID technology, tested and developed in close collaboration with Wetterskip Fryslan and Waterschapsbedrijf Limburg in the Netherlands, gained international interest. After pilots in the UK and Norway a Belgian drinking water company agreed to implement Sand-Cycle in spring 2018.
The technology has also been selected for presentation at the 13th international conference on hydroinformatics in Palermo, July 1 – 6, 2018, HIC 2018 (www.hic2018.org). Hydroinformatics is a branch of informatics which concentrates on the application of information and communications technologies (ICTs) in addressing the increasingly serious problems of the equitable and efficient use of water for many different purposes. Sand-Cycle addresses this issue with particular focus upon sand filtration plants in water and waste water treatment.
